My MySpace was deleted.

Good evening, or is it?

It's a helpless feeling to suddenly find yourself being locked out. I was working on my MySpace account when it happened. I logged out, and when I tried to log back in, it was like a scene from Star Wars. It was all gone. I had to create a new account. I don't know what I did. One thing's for sure, I didn't actively delete my account. The only thing I can think of is that I went to the "No more captchas" screen, and I typed "None of your business" in the phone number area. After all, why do they need my cell phone number? I would think that an email would do just fine. They're looking for a little too much personal information, if you ask me. Ironically, I was typing an blog entry offline. In fact, here it is:

Good evening!

I'm great, thanks. How are you? Isn't it great to be alive? Yes. It is.

Now, on to better things.

As I have said in a previous entry, I have opened up a Blogger blog. I will be using that primarily, as it has become obvious to me that my MySpace draws fewer views than the "Best of Al Sharpton Comedy Special". So there's no use in my prolonging the agony. I stay in touch with friends via email, and I refuse to use Twitter, because frankly, nobody cares what I'm doing every second of the day. And Facebook, although I have deactivated my account, has become the source of a lot of controversy regarding online security.

OK. Here's the deal. My Yahoo ID has attracted spammers. How? Why? Dunno. Dunkare. I have now set Yahoo and AOL so that only people I know can message or email me.

I receive email from those who care to stay in touch with me. I think everyone here knows my email addresses. If not, then send me an email. Hey, that's a little light humor.

That's as far as I got, or at least all I had to say.

It's almost as though MySpace was reading my offline entry, and they saved me the trouble of deleting my account. I didn't want to delete it, just fire up this Blogger.

So here I am. I will blog here. I built another MySpace. If you bookmarked it, it should be the same. I'm still user longboardjeff. Try it.

The decision has been made for me. Yes, I lost all my blog entries, notes, comments, etc. I saved every one of them. I'll miss some of those guys. It's just as well. It's time to move on.

I've told a few more people about this blog, so welcome. Please comment so I know who's out there. If you don't have a Blogger, set yourself up with an account.

Well, that's it. I feel like I'm talking to an empty room. Let's hope that stops.

Have a good evening everyone.

  1. I'm sorry this happened to you, but you are well aware that I am no fan of Myspace. I will like to see your new account when you have it all finished.

I thought I followed you but I couldn't find you. So feel comfort in knowing that you aren't the only one suffering the wrath of the online labyrinth of rules and stumbling blocks.

    I have to go
